This Early SA Dagger is in incredible condition. It’s a gorgeous piece. It is also manufactured by a rare maker, Paul Seilheimer, that ranks a 7 out of 10 on the McSarr rarity scale. This is the first time we have had a dagger by this maker. The blade of this dagger is full length, and very bright, with some factory cross graining still visible., and some slight runner marks. The blade motto is beautiful, with deep original darkening. The reverse of the blade is marked with the attractive and seldom seen maker mark of Paul Seilheimer Solingen. There has been some sharpening to the rear of the blade, with only slight marks visible.

The attractive, high quality handle features a really nice grip, with no chips or cracks and no shrinkage – the top and bottom crossguards fit perfectly . The early eagle shows no wear, and the enamel of the SA roundel is virtually pristine. The crossguards are the expected nickel silver type, with the reverse of the lower guard stamped with “wf” for the district of Westfalen. The blade fits snuggly into the scabbard, with also has nickel fittings and unusually the bottom ball is free from dents – There is a good amount of anodised finish that remains with some spidering. There is also an original brown hanger with nickel fittings. No makers marks are present – all in all an absolute stunning dagger that would be hard to upgrade from
