This is a total wartime  M40 Army refurbishment  with a Methner & Burger decal.. The finish to the helmet is just as it left the factory, with some nice paint runs that can be seen. The decal rates at near perfect  All pins match perfectly but one is missing it’s washer, there are  no extra bends or damage so my guess is that it was never fitted. The liner is supple and undamaged size 57. Shell is marked Q64 and a lot number to the rear. There is an original chinstrap that is fitted to the helmet which shows an interesting cut. Overall this is a super condition helmet that has never been in a collection.

The helmet was discovered in a house clearance locally – I have a few “pickers” and this was offered to me before anyone else. I jumped at the chance to acquire a helmet that has not been in a collection, the story goes the old chap brought it back from the war. Passed it onto his son, and he was the one that passed away – no one knew it was there. Before anyone starts thinking I got this for nothing. I paid very good money for it, and the profit margin for me is small
