Dark blue wool construction with yellow  piping  around the top brim The eagle placement and piping denotes this example being of the 1944 pattern, the cap has no national tri-colour cockade, as per regulations. The rank piping indicates the ranks of Marineunterführerin to Marineoberstabsführerin. Internally marked R-B-Nr 0/0408/0036, size 54cms, in fantastic condition and an increasingly scarce piece.In December 1941 the German government allowed women to be drafted into military service as non-combatant auxiliaries,  in 1942 the Marinehelferinnen was established and the following year the female overseas cap was introduced
