A stunning example – probably the best I have ever seen- and owned

This has a Cavalry frog with the extra attachment to the top – however a directive dated 1938 made it available to all troops. The frog is supple – undamaged – and a good black colour. Makers mark dated 1942 on the obverse, along with the all-important KM stamp. The bayonet is mint and dated 38 along the spine; top of the blade has the maker GEBR. HELLER the opposite side has the serial number 1384 which is mirrored on the scabbard. The blade is exceptional showing a deep black colour. Bakelite handles -working release button,  and Waffenampt marking to upper pommel reverse. The scabbard is completely free from dents, and carries the same deep “Blued” colour of the blade. This is one that would enhance any collection/display and items of this quality and condition rarely appear on the market
