Here’s a nice untouched  SA by E. Pack the most common SA dagger maker of the period.

All of the nickel fitting are tight and dent free. The roundel and the eagle are a lovely fit into the unmarked brown wood. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Nrh” for Niederrhein

The blade has some spotting, and a couple of marks but it is very  minor It has not been tipped or sharpened and the inscription is a gorgeous deep black colour.

The scabbard has almost all of its original finish with some oxidization wear, and it remains completely dent free. The lower ball is dent free! All screws are tight and have not been taken in and out.

These early SA daggers – once plentiful and in abundance are now drying up, staying in collections, which has driven the prices up.

Always a good investment.
