Trumpet banners from the 3rd Reich period always evoke a sense of national pride, which is sometimes lost today. None more so than the youth of the era, where pride and togetherness was entrenched into everyday life. So it is always nice to offer pieces that  in my opinion, are art forms. This is a fantastic DJ Trumpet and banner for the German Town of  Halle.a.d.Saale. Halle (Saale) is in the southern part of Saxony-Anhalt. Leipzig, one of eastern Germany’s  major cities, is only 35 kilometres away. During World War II, KZ-Außenlager Birkhahn, a subcamp of Buchenwald was in Halle, where prisoners from Poland, Czechoslovakia, the Soviet Union, France, Netherlands and others  were forced to work in the Siebel aircraft plants, making combat aircraft.

The banner is the usual sized HJ/DJ size, with thick black cotton material making the basis of the flag, over- stitched with a single sig rune in contrasting white. The fringe is heavy aluminium twisted cord, and the reverse has the Halle coat of arms. – Half moon with 2 stars- The trumpet is a period trumpet – and totally uncleaned. There is no damage to it and has a lovely patina. The banner is tied to the trumpet with 3 black cotton ties. There is a stain mark to the sig rune at the front. But no moth bites or tears. A true piece of 3rd Reich art, that is surely an investment for the collector, as these will only increase in price
