Unteroffizier Georg Merkl awarded the 4 year long service medal in the Minesweeping company – Infantry regiment 42 issued October 2nd 1936 in Nürnberg, and the 12 year long service medal while part of the 13th company infantry regiment 42 issued 1st April 1937. Both with official seals and signatures from regimental Commander Oberst Oskar Blumm who later became  Generalleutnant and commander of the 57th infantry division. Awarded Knight Cross 

This small grouping comes with his two citations and his wedding day photograph.

Of note – this is NOT Kreigsmarine minesweeping unit but an Wehrmacht  unit – clearing land/vehicle mines
