The cap is made of doe-skin wool which has lost most of its nap, giving it a slightly coarser appearance. Black wool piping runs the perimeter of the caps crown and bands. A hand sewn Heer Eagle is neatly hand sewn to the front of the cap, as is the bullion cockade and wreath. A fabric tear of approximately 9 millimetres is shown in the photos to the left of the eagle.

The visor peak is made of leather which is still very supple and in excellent condition, as is the leather. The cap is lined in artificial silk shows sweat staining from daily wear; there are also number stamps which we believe to be museum markings. A wonderful looking Pioneer crusher that will sure to make a nice addition to your collection.
