Order 1939 translated KDF cruise program 1939 translated KDF cruise program @ £65.00

As seen in the translation, this program contains the schedule of on-board events and the menu for the day. It is in exceptional condition and very scarcely found on the market.

The KDF (Strength through Joy) Organisation was run for the benefit of all German workers.  The Oceana began chartered cruises for Germany in 1935 for its KDF program,  first under Hamburg America before being purchased in 1938 by the KDF.

With the outbreak of WWII, the Oceana was requisitioned by the German Navy as a barrack ship, and sat operational in Gdynia. In the last months of the War, the Oceana was used for evacuating German civilians from East Prussia, and arrived at Flensburg in January 1945 with over 1000 naval personnel and refugees aboard.
