A fantastic offering of a truly “untouched” best described as a “camo” helmet

The shell has been painted with a thick “gritty” textured green paint, both outside and inside up to the aluminium liner ring. There is much paint spilling onto the alloy liner ring, and some touching the liner – giving it that “field applied” look.

I’m 99% certain that this is NOT a re-issue helmet, as the outline of one decal can be seen, but is not exposed anywhere.The Tri- colour appears to have been removed before the application of the paint.

The shell is marked NS62- Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke but no lot number can be seen on the rear skirt.  The liner is approximately size 55/56 with a correct period draw string attached. The pins are tight and appear to not have been touched at all. The early  Brown/black chinstrap is supple and faded in colour – and there are no splits or tears. This is a real character piece, that would grace any collection.
